BECOME AN APPLICATION BUDDY

CAMP continues to look at ways to increase accessibility and support for members applying for CAMP opportunities. The application process for opportunities is continually reviewed and finessed by CAMP members.

We are building a pool of CAMP members who can offer buddying to other members applying for CAMP opportunities. Types of support could be discussing proposals; proof reading an application; checking all the criteria have been addressed; cheerleading around deadlines.

Buddies can state how many applications/members they can support in a particular time-frame (eg one member every two months); and what kind of support they can offer (eg one zoom discussion of proposal plus one proof read of an application).

WORK WITH AN APPLICATION BUDDY

Are you applying for a CAMP opportunity? Would you like to work with an Application Buddy?

Get in touch with CAMP via info@camp-membership.org and if there is a buddy available, we’ll set you up.

how best to use the buddy system.

This is a voluntary, peer-to-peer system, where members offer their support, and maybe they will receive support from someone else on another occasion. It is helpful to be specific about the support you require, or what you can offer, as this will mean members know what they are taking on. And be reasonable in your request, or your offer, consider something that can take an hour or two of someone’s time.

Any advice or feedback is offered in good faith. Advice should not be taken as personal criticism but as a critique of the artwork/application as the buddy sees it. No member is obliged to follow that advice. It can be used to get a perspective outside of your own experience. That perspective can still be subjective and contextual.

Please remember the CAMP Code of Conduct applies to all exchanges and interactions on the CAMP Mighty Network. Be respectful to each other, don’t ask for too much, and don’t feel obliged to offer more than you can manage.
