huddle
Huddle was an opportunity to connect and share thoughts and practices across the UK for the duration of British Art Show 9 in 2022.
CAMP utilised our experience in creating artists networking opportunities and set up a fun and engaging way for artists local to each of the British Art Show 9 (BAS) host cities to connect with one another via zoom.
You can watch videos from each of the Huddles below.

In this panel discussion PROFORMA in Manchester will be joined by Begehungen festival in Germany and SODAS2123 cultural centre in Lithuania to present a HUDDLE on the 1st anniversary of their DESIRE LINES project.
DESIRE LINES are the paths we collectively make as an act of resistance when existing routes are no longer functional or adequate. For this project they delivered a seminar centred on the future of European residencies and exchanges in response to uncertain times post-COVID19 and Brexit, culminating in a free resource of practical information on artist travel and support. They have expanded this into DESIRE LINES: European Residency Programme with artist-led partners across Europe.
The speakers will be discussing how this artist and curator network and exchange resource supports European residencies, and invites the audience others to share their experiences of residencies in these times.
About the speakers:
Chrsi Bailkoski/PROFORMA: PROFORMA is a non-profit visual art, performance and curating platform in Greater Manchester supporting artists and curators by commissioning new work and providing artist exchange opportunities while offering an essential programme for artists’ development including mentoring and peer-led talks. PROFORMA is based at Longsight Art Space.

Begehungen (Germany): The art festival Begehungen has been taking place in Chemnitz since 2003 – as the largest off-culture event in the city. The trademark is an unconventional and low-threshold approach to art. For this reason, the Begehungen are not just a temporary art exhibition, they are a social meeting point for people of different backgrounds. An extensive supporting program consisting of performances, readings and concerts is also an essential part of the festival.

SODAS2123 (Lithuania): SODAS 2123 cultural centre is a self-governing community-based space, operated and curated by the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association. It brings together creators and researchers from different fields, with practices based on experimentation, developing unexpected formats, and responding to the latest cultural, social, geopolitical and ecological issues.
